I paint to express what I think is aesthetic imagery. I start by selecting a model, pose, or expression. To me people are the most appealing object in life. I hope to create trendy, elegant, grunge, pop style imagery. My choice tool is the sponge, it’s like painting with color and texture at the same time. My favorite materials are paint, paper and glue, it does a lot of the work for me. I paint with bright colors and laxity of expression. If a piece calls to mind a colorful side of life, I can then say it has turned out well and if it also looks good from the corner of my eye it’s a select piece. Splotches of color and cracks emerge out of the mediums I use. I try to use every trick I know in every painting I create. I was taught that you should keep everything you make, but I tend to paint over paintings I don’t like to look at. The more I paint over a painting the more details and character it has. I like orange, yellow and blue hues.

I’m 36 years old, live in California USA and have been drawing and painting sense I was 3. I like the human figure most of all. I paint displays of emotion, irony or my idea of what’s attractive. I like to reflect trends and the social aspects of society in my art.

When I was 19 I started on a painting that would make the front page of the city’s newspapers 2 years later.

In my mid 20s I spent a lot of time selling fae watercolor art:

4" x 5" watercolor on paper.

I feel I’ve refined my preference in mediums and a style tempered by my experiences in life. I now use a mixed medium of paints, glue, canvas, and paper:

18" x 36" mixed medium on canvas
